Community Policing

The Riverside Police Department is proud to be an award winning community policing agency. We consider community policing an agency philosophy, not just a program. The Riverside Police Department has been recognized by several agencies for excellence in community policing, including awards from the NJ Attorney General’s Office and the New Jersey General Assembly.

Along with an agency wide mindset, there are many services we provide as outreach programs that are part of our efforts to provide the highest level of policing service to our community. The Community Policing Division is responsible for the development and maintenance of our community based initiatives such as the Police Explorers, L.E.A.D., Kidz Funzone game truck, Haunted Police Station, National Night Out, family move and game nights to name a few.
